Letter from Ethel McCrady Hicks to her daughter Gladys Hicks Shrader - June 25,1967
In Jesus dear name
June 25,1967
Dearest Gladys and James
I got your letter and I was so glad to
hear from you. I do hope this finds you feeling
much better. I don't feel so well. It's so hot. I have such a headache. I may have to come back. If I do don't worry. I will just get a plane and come. I guess if I come to Terre Haute, it won't be so far to be on the plane. It will be hotter in July and August then it is now.
I should have went home with you when you were down at Owensboro and stayed a few weeks with you. I couldn't have went when you then had a truck full. You came back and got me and I went to Velmas.
I never thought wane (one)
time about the heat. I should have. We called Beulah and she never thought to tell me
not to come till Sept or Oct. I would have stayed all next winter.
I guess I have to go to the Dr. and get a check up. It shall cost me I know. They take my blood sugar and that cost me 12 dollars.
I want you to write me right back and tell me how you all are. I guess I will write Essie and Bob and write to have Lucille when I know I have to come back.
Beulah is so nervous. Both of us together makes it bad. I worry about her and she worries about me so that makes it
worse. I can't get out in the sun at all. Sun makes my head burst. I don't want you to worry, just pray for me that I will
have a safe trip back.
Tom called and said his family is coming but they have not got here yet. Beulah is going to call him tonight to see what is wrong that he's not got here and as soon as he comes around to call so I get to see him and I'll be ready to come.
I guess I will close and say God bless you. Beulah went to church last Sunday and Sunday night. I didn't feel like going this
morning. If I get to feeling better we may go tonight.
Hope you all are well. I will close and say God bless you all. All my love and prayers. I love you all. __ ?__ loves you all.
